Agreement to Terms
By installing, accessing, or using Volt (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Volt ("we," "us," or "our"). We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
Description of Service
Volt is a Chrome browser extension that provides AI-powered content assistance for X/Twitter, including:
- AI-generated content suggestions (posts, replies, threads)
- Writing style analysis and voice matching
- Profile analysis and content discovery
- Template-based content creation
The Service reads publicly visible content from X.com pages to provide context-aware assistance. The Service integrates with third-party platforms and AI providers.
Eligibility
To use Volt, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction)
- Have a valid X/Twitter account in good standing
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable laws
Account and Authentication
To access Volt features, you must authenticate via X/Twitter OAuth. By authenticating, you:
- Authorize Volt to access your X/Twitter profile information
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
- Agree to maintain the security of your login credentials
- Agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
We are not responsible for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account if you fail to maintain security.
Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to use Volt to:
- Violate X/Twitter's Terms of Service or any applicable laws
- Generate or distribute spam, harassment, hate speech, or harmful content
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
- Create content that infringes intellectual property rights
- Engage in automated mass posting or coordinated inauthentic behavior
- Circumvent rate limits, bans, or platform restrictions
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without authorization
- Interfere with the Service's operation or security
User Content and Responsibility
Your Content: You retain full ownership of content you create using Volt. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.
Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for:
- All content you generate, modify, or publish using Volt
- Reviewing all AI-generated suggestions before posting
- Ensuring your content complies with X/Twitter's Terms and applicable laws
- Any consequences arising from content you post
AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Content generated by Volt's AI features is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that AI outputs will be:
- Accurate, complete, or error-free
- Unique or free from similarity to other content
- Appropriate for your specific use case
- Compliant with platform rules or legal requirements
- Free from bias, offensive language, or factual errors
AI models may produce unexpected, incorrect, or inappropriate outputs. You acknowledge this inherent limitation and agree to exercise human judgment when using AI-generated content.
Data Scraping and Platform Compliance
Volt reads publicly visible content from X.com pages to provide context-aware assistance. By using Volt, you acknowledge that:
- Content reading is limited to what's visible in your authenticated browser session
- You authorize Volt to process this content on your behalf for AI-assisted content creation
- You remain responsible for compliance with X/Twitter's Terms of Service
- We do not intentionally process direct messages or protected content; features are scoped to public/authorized page content, and DMs are ignored by product logic
X/Twitter may change their policies at any time. If X/Twitter takes action against your account related to Volt usage, we are not liable.
Subscriptions and Payments
Some Volt features require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are managed through Polar.sh ("Polar").
- Free Trial: New users may receive a 7-day free trial. Credit card required. Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected. Payments are processed by Polar.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
- Cancellation: Cancel anytime from your dashboard. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Polar in accordance with their refund policy.
- Price Changes: We may change pricing with 30 days notice. Continued use after price changes constitutes acceptance.
Intellectual Property
Volt's IP: The Volt extension, website, branding, documentation, and all related materials are our exclusive property or licensed to us. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal purposes.
Restrictions: You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, nor may you reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code.
Feedback: Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service may be used by us without compensation or attribution.
Third-Party Services
Volt integrates with third-party services that have their own terms:
- X/Twitter: Authentication and content platform. Subject to X's Terms of Service.
- Polar: Payment processing. Subject to Polar's Terms.
- OpenRouter / AI Providers: AI model access. Subject to their respective terms.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services. Use of these services is at your own risk.
Service Availability
We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:
- Modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time
- Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
- Limit or suspend access for users who violate these Terms
- Discontinue the Service entirely with reasonable notice
We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions, modifications, or discontinuation.
Termination
By You: You may terminate your account at any time by uninstalling the extension and DMing us on X for data deletion.
By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if you:
- Violate these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy
- Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse the Service or other users
- Fail to pay subscription fees
Upon termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by nature should survive termination will survive.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
We specifically disclaim warranties regarding:
- Fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of AI-generated content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with X/Twitter's current or future terms
- Results or outcomes from using the Service
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VOLT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Content you generate, post, or publish using the Service
- Actions taken by X/Twitter or other third parties against you
- Account suspensions, bans, or restrictions on any platform
- Unauthorized access to your account due to your negligence
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Volt, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Content you create or publish using the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Any claim that your content caused damage to a third party
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved as follows:
- Informal Resolution: Contact us first via email at support@usevolt.app. We'll attempt to resolve disputes informally within 30 days.
- Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
- Jurisdiction: Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of India. For users outside India, these Terms will be enforced to the fullest extent under applicable local laws.
General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Volt.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No Waiver: Failure to enforce any right does not waive that right.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any successor.
